Karim Naghdiani is a mechanical engineer at Topsoe Fuel Cell.
From cell to stackIn my group we work with fuel cells for distributed generation. That means fuel cells which can be used as power supply for instance in supermarkets, oil platforms and mobile hospitals.
I am responsible for the mechanical aspects of assembling the stacks into modules - from idea to dummy test to making it work in the real world. That process is interesting - and challenging!
Design and testWhen we work, the development process is divided into different phases - we collect ideas, then we settle on a design which is drawn up. Finally, we carry out a dummy test and gather test results. And each time we take a step forward!
It is a great satisfaction when my ideas are heard, and we decide to try them out - that is a good feeling.
Making historyWe think everything from the beginning, and we work together. I have great colleagues who I can discuss different issues and options with.
Topsoe Fuel Cell is a very international company, and we come from many different countries. At the same time there is a very informal atmosphere. We all take responsibility for our jobs, and at the same time we are free to test new ideas. That is highly motivating.
Working with Topsoe Fuel Cell is a privilege - we are making history.
