- Topsoe Fuel Cell was formed in 2004 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Haldor Topsøe A/S. Haldor Topsøe is today owned 100% by Dr. Haldor Topsøe.
- Prior to the company formation in 2004, solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology was pursued under a research project fully integrated within the R&D Division of Haldor Topsøe. Topsoe Fuel Cell was established to create a leaner, more focused and independent platform for enhancing commercialisation efforts and creating a visible basis for collaboration and strategic partnerships.
- Topsoe Fuel Cell benefits from Haldor Topsøe´s extensive core competencies and is secured rights to Haldor Topsøe´s special knowledge and technology within:
-R&D competencies, especially within materials and surface science
-Existing Haldor Topsøe technology and catalysts within fuel processing and reforming
Further, Topsoe Fuel Cell shares with Haldor Topsøe a common business vision for alternative energy solutions, energy savings and environmental improvements.
- The total number of full-time employees is currently 70.
