Production facility

Topsoe Fuel Cell’s production facility was completed in 2008 and constitutes an important step towards commercialization.

Cell production

The annual capacity is around 5 MW of cells. The facility is designed for expansion beyond 10 MW. Production layout is modular to enable focused optimization and development of production equipment.

The production plant has been constructed with substantial support from the EU Life Environment programme for the DEMO SOFC project.

Production for demonstration

The cell production capacity is sized to cover the planned demonstration effort within the company as well as with collaboration partners. Through this facility, various cost cutting possibilities are demonstrated while also increasing the SOFC fuel cell performance. Cells with different dimensions and geometries can be produced using the same equipment.

Production expansion

Expansion of plant capacity is possible as demand increases. Plans include facilities, scale-up of equipment, process improvements, product design improvements as well as production cost reductions.
