Lyngby, 19 April 2006
Topsoe Fuel Cell and its strategic research partner in Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) technology, Risø National Laboratory, Wednesday, April 5 signed a renewal of their long-term collaboration agreement to come into effect on 1 May 2006. The agreement provides the framework for the joint continued and expanded SOFC activities for the next 5 years. The Agreement also secures certain financial contributions from Topsoe Fuel Cell to Risoe, while Topsoe Fuel Cell retains exclusive rights to use of Risoe SOFC related patents and know-how.
“We are pleased that we have renewed this important agreement between Topsoe Fuel Cell and Risoe, allowing us to continue the fruitful co-operation”, says Helge Holm-Larsen, Director, Business Development. “The joint effort committed in this agreement means that we can reach the critical research mass required for developing and commercializing the SOFC technology”, he adds.
Co-operation on fuel cells between Topsoe Fuel Cell and Risoe goes back many years. The location of Risoe less than an hours drive from the Topsoe Fuel Cell offices ensures unhindered and dynamic interaction between the scientists of the two partners. The renewal of the agreement is a natural continuation of the successful partnership and serves to bring the SOFC technology closer to commercialisation.
